We admit children from as young as 2.5 years old into our Playgroup. Children must be toilet-trained or undergoing training, as we have support staff to assist them.
Our fee structure is affordable and inclusive. To get the exact breakdown for your child's grade (Playgroup - Grade 9), please visit our school office or contact our school office number.
For PP1 & PP2, we have a simple interaction to check readiness. For Grade 1 to Grade 9, we administer a short written assessment (Maths & English) to understand the learner's entry behavior and support needs.
Yes, we do. We help new students settle in quickly, make friends, and catch up with the curriculum so they never feel left behind.
We warmly welcome children of all abilities and believe that diversity strengthens our school family. Because every child's journey is unique, we invite you to sit down with us for a personal conversation. This allows us to truly understand your child's specific support needs and ensure we can provide the safe, nurturing environment where they can absolutely thrive.
We accept M-Pesa, bank transfers, and cash payments at the school office. We also offer flexible payment plans for parents who need to spread fees across the term. Visit the office to discuss a plan that works for your family.
Academics & Curriculum
Our JSS curriculum follows the MOE-approved CBC pathway. Core subjects include English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, and Pre-Technical Studies. Learners also take Religious Education (CRE or IRE), Creative Arts, Agriculture, Home Science, and Physical Education. We additionally offer Computer Science and French as value-added subjects.
Yes! Every learner from Grade 1 to Grade 9 attends computer lessons in our modern lab. From Grade 4 onwards, we introduce coding and basic programming. Our Coding & Robotics Club also runs as a co-curricular activity for learners who want to go deeper into technology.
Yes. French is offered as a foreign language from Grade 4 onwards. In today's globalized world, learning a second international language gives our learners a competitive advantage. The lessons are interactive and fun, using songs, games, and conversation practice.
We believe no child should be left behind. Our teachers identify struggling learners early through continuous assessment. We provide extra support through remedial lessons after school, peer-to-peer tutoring, and one-on-one teacher sessions. We also communicate with parents regularly to ensure support continues at home.
We give age-appropriate homework to reinforce what was learned in class. Playgroup and PP1 get minimal take-home activities. Primary learners get daily homework in core subjects. JSS students receive structured assignments. Boarders complete homework during supervised evening prep. We believe homework should be manageable — not overwhelming.
Transport & Logistics
Our school buses cover a wide radius in Utawala including: Mihang'o, Airways, Benedicta, Kinca, GSU/AP, Shooters, Karagita, Kayole, Astrol, Medina, Githunguri, Chokaa, Kibiku, and more. We offer door-to-door pick-up and drop-off to ensure your child's safety.
Safety is non-negotiable. We offer door-to-door pick-up and drop-off. Every bus is manned by a professional driver and a compassionate bus matron who ensures children are buckled up and handed over only to authorized guardians.
We understand that traffic and work can be unpredictable. Children not picked up on time are kept safe in our 'Late Wait' program, supervised by a teacher, where they can read or play until you arrive.
Absolutely. Many parents drop off and pick up their children personally. Our gate has a clear drop-off zone and our security team maintains a record of authorized pick-up persons for every child. No child is released to an unregistered person.
Safety & Welfare
Safety is our priority. We are located in a secure gated court (Mihang'o Good Hope). The school has a perimeter wall, 24/7 manned gate, and CCTV surveillance in common areas. No child is allowed to leave the gate without an authorized guardian.
Yes, we serve hot, nutritious, balanced lunches prepared fresh daily. We are very careful with allergies; please inform us of any dietary restrictions (like nuts, dairy, or gluten), and we will cater to your child's specific health needs.
We have a strict zero-tolerance policy on bullying of any kind — physical, verbal, or cyber. Our teachers are trained to identify early signs. We use counseling, parental involvement, and if necessary, disciplinary action. Every child deserves to feel safe and respected at school.
We have trained first aiders on staff and a fully stocked first aid kit. For minor injuries or illness, we provide immediate care and notify parents. For anything requiring medical attention, we contact parents immediately and can facilitate transport to the nearest medical facility.
Boarding
Our boarders enjoy a structured, caring environment. The day includes morning prep, classes, meals, co-curricular activities, supervised evening prep, and lights-out. Dormitories are clean with hot showers. We provide three balanced meals plus a snack. Weekend boarders can attend church or mosque services. It's a home away from home.
Boarding is available for upper primary (Grade 4 onwards) and all Junior Secondary students (Grade 7-9). We find that younger children benefit from the day school experience first, and transition to boarding when they are more independent.
Yes. We have designated visiting days each term where parents can come, bring supplies, and spend time with their children. In case of emergencies or urgent matters, parents can visit any day by coordinating with the school office. We also allow phone calls on designated days.
We provide a detailed checklist upon admission. Generally, boarders need: school uniform, personal toiletries, bedding (some provided), and comfortable weekend wear. We discourage expensive electronics and provide lockable storage for personal items. The full list is given at registration.
